The Chief Executive announced in the 2024 Policy Address that the Government is formulating a series of measures to enhance the development of Hong Kong's cultural, creative, sports and tourism industries. This includes innovative initiatives to establish Hong Kong as a preferred travel destination, leveraging its rich and unique resources to achieve "tourism is everywhere in Hong Kong". Ocean Park Corporation highly welcomes these initiatives.
Paulo Pong, Chairman of Ocean Park Corporation, said: "We support the Chief Executive's plan to promote the integrated development of culture, creative industries, sports and tourism, as well as strategies to identify and develop tourism hotspots in the city and increase inbound visitors. The development direction outlined in the 2024 Policy Address will play a pivotal guiding role.”
Regarding the promotion of panda tourism, Paulo Pong noted: "Ocean Park will harness the enthusiasm and international attention surrounding the city’s six giant pandas to attract more visitors. In addition to launching creative merchandise to seize market opportunities, we will leverage our strengths in conservation and education to continually enhance 'edutainment' experiences centred around giant pandas. We aim to strengthen collaboration with various sectors to enrich the itineraries of visitors to Hong Kong, thereby enhancing the uniqueness and appeal of Hong Kong as a travel destination."
